Earlier we talked about the emergence of Real time Web base applications. The Real Time based ecosystem driven primarily by twitter and facebook is still evolving . Twitter based micro payment service twitpay allows us to handle paypal based micropayment transactions. twitpay is built on top of Paypal Adaptive Payments Platform which is running the beta version. Interestingly paypal is running the service in beta mode and accept invitation through its newly acquired domain- x .
The twitpay service links the twitter account to your existing paypal account and allows to make a micropayment to any one else with a twitter account. Twitpay charges the sender a nickel if the amount is a dollar or more . PayPal charges the transaction fee of 2.9%+.3 USD plus any other applicable fees.
Here is an informative video on the service.
Again, twitpay is the latest example of the emerging real time based ecosystem. We are going to see more and more such services.
