SMS based Video Message service is a relatively new area in the US mobile industry. There are Real time mobile based Video sharing services like Qik , 12 seconds. SMS based video messaging will be something to watch out. mKLIK is a San Jose , California based Startup company working on a patent pending Video Message Service (VMS). They are in stealth mode , which probably explains why their website is not live yet.
The beauty of the service is that the video can be received without going to web on any mobile device capable of playing video. The Video links are received in the form of SMS. Content providers have an option to add “VMS” link to their site which can deliver the video links straight to the mobile phones. Users can sign up to receive automatic link of Videos posted on various sites as an link. They can also forward the SMS to other mobile phones.
The service also includes facility to create the video on the mobile and share it through SMS. It will be interesting to watch this company as it has a great offering. This kind of light weight video sharing service will be handy to any mobile customer
Earlier I posted about Real time Web Discovery Engine . This one is about Real Time Video sharing . As the real time space evolves , we can see more and more such services.
