Google(Your) Health in one place

What a better way to store and manage your health information at one place and to take control of your medical records. Google Health allows users post your health records online and giving consumers more control over their information. Its simple where everyone have access to important data that was previously out of our reach. It could potentially save lives in times of crisis by sharing health profiles to your loved ones so that they can answer questions by doctors in emergency situations

What caught my attention is Google health’s “advance directive”. It allows people to store end-of-life wishes so that the doctor and your family can honor them if you get sick and are not able to communicate. Caring Connections, a leading advance directive provider provides free downloadable form customized for all 50 states. Download the form, print it, scant it and upload it to Google Health. Once you’ve uploaded the signed form, Google Health makes it easy to share it with your caregiver

If you are concerned about the safety of your info, there’s not to worry. Users choose who can have access to their records and can revoke access to anyone at anytime. Also others who have access to your profile can only see and not edit your profile, so the shared documents are read only. Google health also allows you to review activity report ad see who has reviewed your report

Lastly, Google Health has launched a new graphing feature that helps patients visualize their medical test information. This is great for, say, someone who has high cholesterol. They can use Google Health to enter their lab results on a monthly basis and see the trend over time. Take a look at this

There is still more work coming from Google Health, and Google is excited to keep hearing from you to continue to make improvements. For now, we hope this new sharing feature makes coordinating your care, or the care of loved ones, a little easier

Be in good shape and health
